The state of Oklahoma has issued more than 375,924 medical marijuana cards since the use of medical marijuana was first legalized in the state in 2018. That's over 10 percent of the state's population!

So if you're an Oklahoman, you likely have some experience with CBD which derives from cannabis. But, whether you're a first-time or frequent buyer, you can still end up buying the wrong CBD product and not experience the results you’re looking for. That's why here our experts at Med Pharm OK share common mistakes to avoid when buying CBD.

Keep reading to learn how to make a good choice every time you buy CBD!

1. You Skip on Comparing the Different Types of CBD Products

For your specific needs, you may find one form of CBD more useful than others. CBD is often taken orally or applied topically, and is available in several forms.

If you need help picking out the right CBD product for you, then ask a trained budtender. Our team of budtenders will be able to best advise you on a wide range of products that will provide you with the results you’re looking for.

2. Not Checking the Sourcing of the Cannabis

Because hemp bioaccumulates, it absorbs everything from its surroundings. If a CBD product comes from a poor source of hemp, then it could contain toxins or chemicals that are harmful to your health.

Being sure your CBD is provided by a trusted source is important for choosing the right product.

3. Not Looking for a C.O.A. (Certificate of Analysis)

Despite there being no legal or industry standards, reputable manufacturers will get a Certificate of Analysis, or COA, for their products. So when looking at a CBD product label, look for a COA to determine if it's from a reputable hemp source. A third-party tester gives a CBD product a COA to help buyers verify that the label of the product matches up with the actual product they intend to buy.

Although we don't grow our own plants at Med Pharm OK, we do ensure that our products have a COA!

4. Forgetting Your OMMA (Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority) Card

Although you don’t need an OMMA card to purchase CBD, Med Pharm carries a wide selection of products, many of which will contain THC and therefore will require a patient card through the state of Oklahoma.

Please talk to one of our trained budtenders about the stress-free system Med Pharm provides to get a patient card.
